All running costs of DMS are covered by the school fees paid by the parents. Additional projects such as new buildings or renovations or water and energy supply are supported by the Tayomi Friends‘ Association. A particular concern of the Friends‘ Association is to enable talented pupils whose families are unable to finance their school fees due to illness, death or unemployment to receive a qualified education through sponsors from Germany.
A sponsorship costs €70 per month. These school fees allow the child to live and stay at the Dr Mezger School, receive three meals a day, medical care, a school uniform and pocket money. The sponsorship includes the support of a child from class 1 to class 4, so it usually runs for 4 years.
The sponsorships are supervised from Germany and we regularly check the well-being of the children and the condition of the school. Sponsors and donors receive up-to-date information from us via the Tayomi Friends Letter. There is also a personal letter contact between sponsor and sponsored child (in English). Current pictures and information about the child’s development are sent by the school management.
The new school year begins in January. At this time each year, sponsors are needed for selected new first-graders.
